Many times I come across young men who discover the call of God on their life. They passionately begin to pursue t and find that there are many things that they have to overcome in order to be promoted to the next level. I was one of the men.
For some reason we tend to neglect our character flaws and other set backs, assuming that they will all go away once we are handed a ministry title. That’s not so. Abraham Lincoln said, “I will study. I will prepare. And my opportunity will come.”
There is a stage to showing yourself approved. The bible says, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15 KJV)
The promotion comes with the continued studying and shaping of not only spiritual things, but natural as well. If you feel called to the ministry, ask yourself, “Right now, what do I have to offer the ministry besides my call?”If the answer is “not much”, continue to prepare.
