This past week has been a week of extreme faith and prayer as we are believing for a dear friend to come out of ICU from a massive stroke. We are standing and will continue to stand. Through this time, the Lord has been speaking to me in many different ways. Recently, He explained this process to me in a way that I feel will help you, as it did the family that I shared it with.
If I were to buy you a car online, let’s just say through a site like eBay or Craig’s List. Once I purchased the car, I would receive a receipt or confirmation of my purchase. That means the car is yours now. However, what if the car had to be picked up and it was 12 hours away from where you lived? We would simply get in my car and begin our journey on the road to pick up what now belongs to you. From time to time we will have to stop, gas up, rest a while, and sometimes ask for directions if we get off course. My question to you is, would you begin to doubt that you were getting the car every time we stopped to rest, fill up, or ask for directions? No, of course you would not. Why? Because the car is yours. You have proof of purchase from the receipt that was given to you.
You see, the same is true when it comes to our faith life. Concerning my friend in ICU, we are on the victory road right now, heading to pick up our friend that was bought and paid for by the Blood of Jesus. The Bible says that we were ransomed by His Blood. That means that we were bought wit a price. In your life, when the doctors, creditors, lawyers, your boss, your critics, or even the devil himself comes at you, you do not stop, give up, and cut your trip short. You simply fill up, rest, and ask for direction.
The best way to fill up is to pray in the spirit and then get your joy tank full. The joy of the Lord is your strength. When you do not know how to pray as you ought to know, the Bible says that the Holy Spirit will help you. He is referred to as our Helper. Be encouraged in your faith fight right now. If you know that there is something that belongs to you, do not stop halfway through your trip and turn back empty handed. Obtain the thing that has been bought for you. It cost Jesus too much for you not to pick it up!
